The work consists of used laserdiscs. The laserdisc was a medium for video data – the big sister of the CD and forerunner of the DVD. The five objects trace the outline of a lichen. Lichens are extremely robust, multispecies life forms that exist in a symbiosis of fungus and algae. The fungal mycelium provides the algae with a protective dwelling, while the fungus benefits from the algae’s nutrient production.
