Kitman Yeung & Lalicha Lalitsasivimol (gift-kit Kollektiv), Hadin Schorn, Vitor Mattos, Stefan Hurtig
During their four-week residency in circuit 2024, 5 artists from Thuringia and the surrounding area engaged directly with the surroundings of the Kunsthof under the aspect of climate-friendly art production and incorporated recipes, encounters, found objects, architecture and medicinal plants from the Altenburger Land region into their work processes and concepts.
Kitman Yeung and Lalicha Lalitsasivimol founded the gift-kit collective for the residency and, together with the people of the region, realized the project “migrated cookbook”, a cookbook that makes the migration of recipes and ingredients in the Thuringian region visible and presents samples at the vernissage.
Hadin Schorn has developed an art in architecture project and worked with her reverse glass painting from the interior to the exterior.
Vittor Mattos used the technique of cyanotype and the use of coloring regional medicinal plants to familiarize himself with a foreign landscape and at the same time integrate himself into it.
Stefan Hurtig’s SOLIDARITIES project examines the relationship between humans and non-human living beings in the sense of a post-human utopia and provides food for thought for a sustainable future in terms of coexistence, use of living space and nutrition. Green gin & chlorella tonic with microalgae harvested on site will be served at the vernissage.
5 Künstler*innen aus Thüringen uns Sachen befassten sich unter dem Aspekt der klimafreundlichen Kunstproduktion während ihres vierwöchigen Residenzstipendiums in circuit 2024 unmittelbar mit der Umgebung des Kunsthofes und bezogen Rezepte, Begegnungen, Fundstücke, Architekturen und Heilpflanzen der Region Altenburger Land in ihre Arbeitsprozesse und Konzeptionen ein.
Kitman Yeung und Lalicha Lalitsasivimol haben für das Residenzstipendium das gift-kit Kollektiv gegründet und gemeinsam mit den Menschen der Region das Projekt „migrated cookbook“ realisiert, ein Kochbuch, das die Migration von Rezepten und Zutaten im Thüringer Land sichtbar macht und zur Vernissage Kostproben präsentiert.
Hadin Schorn hat ein Kunst am Bau Projekt entwickelt und mit ihrer Hinterglasmalerei vom Innenraum in den Aussenraum gearbeitet.
Vittor Mattos machte sich mit der Technik der Cyanotypie und der Verwendung von färbenden regionalen Heilpflanzen mit einer fremden Landschaft vertraut und integrierte sich zugleich in selbige.
Stefan Hurtigs Projekt SOLIDARITIES untersucht im Sinne einer posthumanen Utopie das Verhältnis von Mensch und nicht-menschlichen Lebewesen und liefert Denkanstöße für eine nachhaltige Zukunft in Bezug auf Zusammenleben, Nutzung des Lebensraumes und Ernährung. Zur Vernissage gibt es grünen Gin-Chlorella-Tonic mit vor Ort geernteten Mikroalgen.
